Nightly network backup hangs intermittently, usually around 12% complete. After sitting for several hours, the backup process is stopped; however, the 'stopping backup' dialog window never closes. After manually closing the dialog box, the computer is shutdown for a reboot. The shutdown process continues for several minutes, then the computer blue screens. After a reboot, Windows Backup is started manually and completes to the network resource without a problem.
A system image is included with each backup;
CHKDSK (executed on separate reboot) reveals no errors;
SFC /scannnow reveals no problems;
Microsoft Security Essentials reports no problems (and completes successfully while Windows Backup is hung);
WindowsBackup.etl files are available.
Any ideas??
Thanks.
