Microsoft LifeCam Software

Hello,

I am a help desk tech for a city and I'm having issues with the Microsoft LiveCam software.

One of our offices uses a MS HD 6000 Lifecam to take images of people for their case files.  Yesterday, there was a change made to their AD account (we changed the server their files redirect to) and now the software won't work.  I went over and the error message said it couldn't find the Lifecam files.  The troubleshooting guide gave no real help.

So I reinstalled the software on the user's account (standard user, not admin) and authorized the install with our installer admin account and got the same message.  So I launched the program from the users account using the Run As Admin command and it worked.  I looked at the picture directory and noticed it was saving the files to the installer admin account.  There was no where in the setup or even in the software that would allow me to change the default save location.  It appears to me that the software was written to save to the picture folder of the admin account which installed the software.

My questions are: 1) does anyone know how to change the default folder location in this software, and 2) if I can't change the location, would making the user a local admin, installing the software, and then demoting the user back to standard allow them to use the software (my sysadmin wouldn't let me try this option without research)

The OS is Win 7 pro 32 bit fully patched. The LiveCam software came directly from the MS hardware download page.
