I have a full system state with the works backup of the main system (Widows 7 Pro). I needed to recovery yesterday. Launched System Restore, chose to do recovery, selected the backup point on the external drive, backup started... half way through, the process fails with error: error when accessing the remote shared folder.
There are no remote/shared/network drives... wtf?
Fine, pull up command prompt while still booted from the CD. (from memory) wbadmin start recovery -version:xxx -itemtype:volume -item:C: -backupTarget:F: (external drive) -recoveryTarget:C: -skipBadClusterCheck
Process begins... and stops at 44%. Same error.
What is going on? How can I get my system restored from this perfectly good backup?
