path name too long

Dear all,

We are trying to copy files from and old PC with Windows Vista via external HDD, and to transfer these files to a new PC with Windows 7.

Unfortunately we get the error "path name too long".

I have tried to use robocopy, which transfers the files, with no errors, but the issue is that you can not open the transferred file anymore.Same happens with Acronis.

Is there any resolution to this problem, because the ammount of data that have long path names is more than 600 files, which makes it difficult to reduce the name of each file.
