I have just come across a problem with the Indexing Options in Windows 7 with a user at my organisation.
When he goes into Indexing Options - Advanced - File Types there are no file types listed there.
All other PC's in his team and other windows 7 users have file extensions listed here.
I have been able to replicate the issue on my own machine and it appears as though it is to do with the fact that we are both local admins on our pc's.
Checking a user's pc who is not a local admin will show these extensions.
Even though however the file types seem to be missing, it does not affect the search functionality at all, and works as though all the file types are still there.
Is this a defect? Is there a way to fix it so that the extensions show no matter what the rights are of the user?
