Problems saving Windows Settings after joing new Server 2012 Domain

I've joined the Windows 7 Pro workstations to the Domain using the SERVER2012/Connect app and that seemed to work fine. I made the Users all Standard, not Admin, and access to the Shared folders is working fine too. Users appear to be in the Administrators group on the local machine, which is what I need.
However, a number of our applications aren't working correctly ... one writes changes to HKey Current User and those changes will not stick. Some IE sites that require changes have to be made each time; those changes don't save. Some of the ODBC connections to SQL databases are behaving strangly as well. I tried checking permissions on the Windows Registry keys, and they looked OK. Turning off User Access Control did not help either.
If I log on to the workstation not using the Domain Account I don't have this problem. And, one of the workstations which had performed the Windows 10 Upgrade while connected to the previous Domain Controllder works fine.
Any direction would be greatly appreciated! Thx DMiller

Windows Services - Storage Service Missing?
Hi all,
I am doing OS Hardening for one of my PC, but I can't find the "Storage Service" under Windows Services. The strange thing is that I can find it in my laptop Windows Services. My PC is running on Windows 7 Ultimate, while my laptop is running on Windows 7 Professional. But I don't think this is the reason, any help much appreciated! Thank you.

Unable to register mscal.ocx Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit. Error code 0x800300002
When attempting to register MSCAL.OCX using regsvr32 with full administrative access and using an elevated command prompt, I receive the following error.
The module "mscal.ocx" was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80030002
The server {995C996E-D918-4A8C-A302-45719A6F4EA7} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout.
Hi,
Where should I start, to find out, why some of my domain joned PC's throw this kind of error about same time or few seconds before users shut down their computers? Everything seems to working normal but this error is bit annoying. Google gives me nothing.
I know that this GUID is related to "Shell hardware mixed content handler" but thats all.

Robocopy timestamp files 1980 with /B parameter
Hi, we are migrating a very large amount of data and we are using robocopy. Everything seems to work fine but now we find thousands of files having the time stamp reset to 1-1-1980.
After many many tests we now sure the the /B switch is causing this issue (in our case).
But we MUST use the /B switch. Otherwise we will have big problems with access denied errors. to user data.
Now my question is how to solve this issue and keep using the /B switch.
The cmd line we are using is:
robocopy "%source%" "%target%" /MIR /NODCOPY /COPY:DAT /DCOPY:T /r:0 /w:0 /mt:32 /tee /v /fft /np /TIMFIX /xa:sh /xd $RECYCLE.BIN /log+:x:\mylogs\copylog.log
Please help!!!!
TIA!

Hotfix KB2541119 fails to install
Hi Team,
Hoping you would provide more insights on this issue.
1) Tried installing KB2541119 on a Windows 7 machine. It gave a message "The update is not applicable to your computer". See below error logs.
2) Upon further research, it is found that a windows security update causing this problem. Uninstalled KB3072633 (which was already present on the machine) and then tried installing KB2541119, then it got installed successfully.
I suspect there is some kind of conflict between KB3072633 and KB2541119. Could you take a look?

Gadgets All The Sudden Don't Work!
So I rebooted my box today and the couple gadgets I had on my desktop disappeared?
I went through the standard checks. The gadget program was enabled. So right clicking on the desktop and clicking Gadgets nothing happens. Also when I go to the Control Panel --> Appearance and Personalization and click on Desktop Gadgets, nothing happens. Same thing for the other Desktop Gadget links there except for Get More Gadgets link. When I click on that one, Microsoft tells me Gadgets have been discontinued! So, has MS given me a patch to stop gadgets?
Thanks,
Ray

Windows Event Logs for Hardware Health
Which event logs can one check to identify hardware errors or general hardware health for the disk (SSD), battery, or memory? Are there additional health checks that can be collected through PowerShell/WMI? I know Win32_battery has for example an attribute for ExpectedBatteryLife although I don't see it populated. Also the below blog shows how to query disk health through WMI.

Windows 7 update error 0x80070057
So I am having issues updating my Windows 7.
Whenever I try to manually update it gives me an error where it says
"Windows update cannot currently check for updates because the service is not running."
I tried to troubleshoot Windows update and it came with a few errors unfixed.
"Problems installing recent updates"
"windows update error 0x80070057"
What is the best way going about fixing this, I could not find solutions online that work for me
What is error code 2306 (800F0902)
A recent update failed on one of the workstations I support with error code 800F0902. This corresponds to a facility code of 15(Setup API) and error code 2306.
This appears to be a transient error that will go away, but I'd like to know what the actual error code means. I cannot find a definition for it in Windows SDK header files (winerror.h and lmerr.h) or in various web searches. 2306 appears to be in the "Message Server Related" range of LAN Manager errors.
(Please DO NOT reply with instructions for fixing Windows Update. This posting is not about that).
