Multiple instances of this process open and hog large amounts of memory on the machine till other programs wont run.  I ran a complete virus scan with updated avg av software to no avail.  I tried blocking it from starting at startup in msconfig and it recreates itself.  I deleted the application files in its file location and it recreates them.  I found nothing searching process libraries or virus libraries.  It locates itself in a folder ... appdata/roaming/lrylod/qyuxuk.exe   I tried to do a restore to a date prior to the date on the file, but it wouldnt complete. I uninstalled every program installed or updated since the date on the file. Any suggestions before i reload  Windows 7?

Thanks for any help.

No sound from speakers after unplugging USB headset

After unplugging a USB headset, we can no longer get sound out of the speakers on the computer.  I have tested several simple solutions, including trying different speakers, updating drivers, restarting the computer, making sure the integrated sound card is enabled and making sure it is not muted.  According to its properties within the Control Panel, the sound card is enabled and working properly.  Does anyone have any ideas as to possible solutions.  Thanks.

Session "ReadyBoot" stopped due to the following error: 0xC0000188

Just built a new system and every once in a while my computer hangs logging into windows.

i7 2600k
16 gigs/ram
Intel 320 Series SSD x2 in RAID 0
GTX 580

Overview of event logs shows the following.

Intel(R) 82583V Gigabit Network Connection
 Network link is disconnected.

Session "Microsoft Security Client OOBE" stopped due to the following error: 0xC000000D

A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the ASUS Com Service service to connect.

The ASUS Com Service service failed to start due to the following error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion.

Event filter with query "SELECT * FROM __InstanceModificationEvent WITHIN 60 WHERE TargetInstance ISA "Win32_Processor" AND TargetInstance.LoadPercentage > 99" could not be reactivated in namespace "//./root/CIMV2" because of error 0x80041003. Events cannot be delivered through this filter until the problem is corrected.

The maximum file size for session "ReadyBoot" has been reached. As a result, events might be lost (not logged) to file "C:\Windows\Prefetch\ReadyBoot\ReadyBoot.etl". The maximum files size is currently set to 20971520 bytes.

Session "ReadyBoot" stopped due to the following error: 0xC0000188

On Asus connect I changed this service to delayed start I believe it is for my motherboard updates. Superfetch is disabled. My page file is not on my SSD drive but on my regular sata drives configured in RAID 5. It doesn't do this everytime I reboot just seems like it happens after my computer has been on for a while and I turn it off for a few hours and turn it back on to log into windows (put in my password it says welcome) and it takes several minutes to log in.

Tried to do a little research on this but I am turning up 50/50 stuff on rather or not readyboost/superfetch should be on or off and I guess this is what is causing it.... maybe I dont know for sure. Looking for proper information.

Thanks

Merging 2 partitions (System+Data)

In my 500 GB HDD, I have 4 partitions (C,D,E,F). I purchased my desktop a month ago & unfortunately, the stupid computer guy made just a 50 GB partition for the system drive (C, Windows 7 Professional 64-bit).

I installed EaseUS Partition Master Free Edition.
This is the screenshot of the present state of my hard disk.
Note:Disk 1 is the Internal HDD. Disk 2 is the External/Portable HDD. Disk 3 & Disk 4 are of Samsung Galaxy Ace which was connected in USB Storage mode at the time of taking the screenshot.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/93984650@N06/9462863961/

I want to merge E: with C:. But when I select "Merge Partition" from C: (by right-click) then E: is grayed out. Instead, D: is not grayed out & it is the drive where I have installed all my games (& not stored setups but 'installed').

How can I merge C: & E:?

Trying to install internet explorer

I typically use google chrome as my browser but some sites still work better with internet explorer so I was going to re-install internet explorer (I had it previously installed on my PC but uninstalled it because of other issues). When I try to install any version I can't because the program file for internet explorer still exists on my C drive.  I cannot delete the folder because TrustedInstaller has permission and when I try to take permission everything is grayed out. So I have no way of allowing myself to install Internet Explorer.

I have Windows 7 OS 32 bit.

Thanks!

Problem Steps Recorder Error - You do not have the necessary file-system permissions to create the specified output file.

I am trying to use the PSR as a Domain User, but get the following error message when trying to save my recording:

"You do not have the necessary file-system permissions to create the specified output file."

We have folder redirection working correctly for Desktop and Documents, if I navigate to a pre-existing folder on the redirected Documents folder I can save.  I get the error message when trying to save to root of Documents and or desktop.  The user does have the correct permissions the areas as I can save other documents to these areas.  I have a GPO which gives the user modify rights to psr.exe on C drive as the C Drive is locked down.

If I log in twice as the user - 2 different machines (yes I know not ideal) the machine which is logged into second with the same user account is allowed to save to the desktop.  Once I log out, in order, and then back in again to the second machine which was successful only minutes ealrier, I am back to the error.

I have used filemon and at the point where I am getting the error message PSR is looking at C:\Windows\CSC\v2.0.6\namespace\%domain name\.... this folder structure seems to have permissions on it resulting in the administrator only being allowed to "take ownership".

If I run this when logged in as a Domain Admin, I can save no problem.  But when logged in as a Domain User, I get the error.  I tried "Run as different user", entering Domain Admin credentials which allows me to save though saves using the Domain Admin credentials.

Any ideas as to what I can try to allow users to run the application successfully?

Thanks! :-)

The backup application could not start due to an internal error: Server execution failed(0x80080005)

When I try to "Set up backup" under "Backup and Restore" I get an error "The backup application could not start due to an internal error: Server execution failed(0x80080005)".

I am running windows 7 home premium on a CyberPower PC.  I have tried the "answers" in other posts but still get the same error, including disabling all services and startup items first.  I do not have any virus software running other than MS securities essential.  Please help as this is frustrating me and wasting considerable time.

UAC regedit breach

Win7 64bit

In a .bat file when you type a .reg file and execute it the UAC will prompt for permission and the /s parameter does not work because regedit will also ask about permission to alter registry.

If you instead alter the registry like this fx. "REG ADD "HKCU\Software\Sysinternals\Junction" /v EulaAccepted /t REG_DWORD /d 1 /f"

The UAC will not prohibit/prompt about access and the alteration will go quietly even without admin permission.

Why not skip the UAC and just virtualize changes for user apps

GUID-named files in root directory

A couple of days ago on one of our users' Win7 (x64 german) machines, GUID-named files with a size of 30kb started to appear in c:\ root directory.

We can't find any reference to GUID elsewhere on the system. The content of the files is not in a really readable format. Seems to be something compiled.

Any idea where they might come from?

Computer losing disk space

I have been having problems with low disk space for a week or so.  I have Windows 7. I've found files named nCoreNDB with the extensions from 1 to 188.  Dated in the past few days.
nCoreNDB.1
nCoreNDB.2 etc all the way up to 188.  Most are around 187,000 kb
They are in c:/users/myname/local settings/Application Data/temp/nCoreTMP
There are about 8 Application Data folders, one under the other so the files repeat themselves 8 times.
Any idea what these files are?  Google shows nothing.
Thanks

Error with HDD from Laptop which I am now trying to use in an external enclosure.

Hello,

The HDD with the problem is a Toshiba HDD2D62 originally out of a Belinea o.book 1.1 running Windows Vista Basic but after the laptop burned out and now won't turn on I have an external SATA enclosure which I am trying to use to make use of this HDD on a Windows 7 Acer Aspire M3400 PC. However when plugged in via the USB lead the SATA enclosure is recognized but no drive. So I went onto disc management and it does recognize a  drive but is down as Unknown and Not Initialized. So when I try to initialize the drive it first of all came up saying on the lines of this cannot be done due to an I/O Device Error. However after trying again several times it came up with the error The semaphore time out period has expired and after unplugging the drive and reinserting is back with the I/O Device Error.

The drive is not recognized in the BIOS.

The Enclosure is working as it works with a HDD out of another old laptop which is yet again Toshiba.

I have also tried putting it into another laptop as the only hard drive where it does not recognise the drive again but comes up No Operating System Found.

I was wondering if there is any tips or ways to fix this.

Remote desktop resolution issue from high resolution client to server

Problem: Laptop with high end video card and resolution 1900*1600.

When connecting to a windows 2003 terminal server , everything looks to small.

Even when changing the display settings and edit the rdp file it only adjust the screen size, but not the resolution. Wich is normal behavior.

Question: Is it possible to let the remote desktop looks bigger WITHOUT changing the laptop resolution to a lower state (gives a blur impression on text and icons)

Cannot delete folder

$

Hey, I have a folder on my external that I cannot delete, even though it is empty. I've tried going down many avenues, but can't seem to find out how to delete it.

If I try to delete it, I get the message "You require permission from Administrators to make change to this folder"

It is currently read only, if I try to disable that, I get a message that says "You will need to provide administrator permission to change these attributes. Click Continue to complete this operation." If I click continue, it does nothing.

When I go to the security tab and try to change permissions, I already have full control, and when I try to tick the box "Replace all child object permissions with inheritable permissions from this object" I get the the message; "An error occurred while applying security information to: [drive letter:\folder name\Thumbs.db] Access is denied"

So, I can't find any way of changing the file, nor deleting it; is there anything I'm missing? Any information/help greatly appreciated!
