I have been running into an issue on many of our workstations where Windows 7 will not launch any applications. I have tried to launch from both the start menu and the task bar. They will try to open an application and then silently fail.
This is happening with everything from Control panel to Office and 3rd party apps. Then when I try to reboot the machine, the arrow to expand the restart option will not open. All I can do is shut down and then start it from the power button on
the PC. It might take 2 or 3 restarts like this before application will open normal. Task Manager shows normal processor and memory usage. Any ideas?
