Hi,
I had a motherboard failure, replaced the motherboard, processor and memory with new ones labeled Windows 7 compatable. I cannot boot. Boot repair has run numerous times. I did a system restore, no joy. I did a Windows 7 image restore. It starts to boot to the point of getting the startup screen but fails to boot. Again, Start up Repair runs but fails. I checked the board bios and it's newer than the downloads on the mfg website. I suspect the culprit is the bootmgr, but I don't know if even a format and reinstall will correct that. If I format and reinstall, the System Image will no longer work and expensive software and valuable pictures will be lost. I have tried to replace the bootmgr in the PCAT file but Windows prevents me from the doing anything at all with it.
I sure could use a constructive suggestion here. My customer is tearing her hair out here, and so am I.
Thank you!
