I am running Windows 7 x64 and today I received a windows update. I also ran Norton Utilities to clean the registry. After rebooting I can no longer get windows to boot. I get the animated window logo but then I get the BSOD (Code: 0x000000F4). Figuring the registry had been corrupted I ran the Recovery Counsel to go back to my system restore point just before the windows update.
It won't let me continue with the system restore. I pick the date of the last restore point and on the next page I can't click on which drive to restore and it says "You must enable system protection on this drive"
I tried one suggestion to run Net Start VSS however that doesn't work, I get an error. I also have tried to fixmbr and reload the boot loader also.
All my data is backed up so if it isn't an easy fix I will just reinstall windows.
Anybody have any ideas? Thanks
