Copy machine\registry.pol from one machine to another - is this supported?

Short question:  Is copying a c:\windows\system32\grouppolicy\machine\registry.pol file from one Windows 7 machine to another supported by Microsoft?

Explanation:  Our developers have added several McAfee security settings in our local group policy via an admx file.  This causes our local group policy processing to fail with a registry "access denied" error because McAfee doesn't like anything messing with its registry settings.  If we remove all the settings with local gpedit, the error goes away and group policy is processed properly.  Of course, setting this across several hundred computers will take forever, so we're trying to find a way to automate this.

We tested copying the file generated by modifying the local gpedit from one computer to another, and it seems to work.  However, http://blogs.technet.com/b/fdcc/archive/2009/09/15/new-and-updated-local-group-policy-utilities.aspx states that this is not supported.  We have been unable to find anything official from Microsoft stating this is supported on Windows 7, only XP and 2003.

If this is not supported, is there a way using ImportRegPol or Apply_LGPO_Delta to remove settings (set them to "not configured"), or any other way to automate removing these settings?
