I'm running Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2013. In Excel, whenever I try clicking on the "Manage" button in the PowerPivot tab, I get the following errors:
"We couldn't load the Data Model. This may be because the Data Model in this workbook is damaged."
"PowerPivot is unable to load the Data Model."
When I try clicking on the PowerPivot Settings, I get the following error:
"We couldn't load the PowerPivot add-in. First try Office Repair to fix this issue. The error below should help if that doesn't work. Object reference not set to an instance of an object."
I have tried the following to troubleshoot this issue:
1) Reboot the computer
2) Repair Microsoft Office
3) Uninstall and Reinstall Office
4) I followed the steps in this link (including installing the hotfix): http://blogs.technet.com/b/the_microsoft_excel_support_team_blog/archive/2013/08/27/powerpivot-for-excel-2013-error-when-opening-the-manage-window-quot-we-couldn-t-load-the-data-model-this-may-be-because-the-data-model-in-this-workgroup-is-damaged-quot.aspx
5) I have confirmed the "Increase a process working set" policy is granted to the USERS group.
6) I tried running Excel 2013 as an administrator (did not help), in compatibility mode for windows 7 (did not help), and windows xp service pack 3 (did not help).
7) I do not have sql server 2012 installed, and I verified that there was not a service for SQL Server Analysis Services (much less running)
8) I also tried downloading a fresh copy of the ISO for MS Office 2013 Professional and reinstalling office. Also did not help.
I have posted this on the excel IT Pro Discussions and they suggested I cross post it here.
