Every few days, my thumbnail previews in Windows Explorer disappear. It doesn't matter if I choose list view, small icons, medium thumbnails, etc. - I can't get a preview. Related - I can't seem to access the file properties. If I right click, it just spins
for many minutes, then does nothing.
I've gone online and see that this is not a new problem for Windows 7 and that it might be that the thumbnail cache is being deleted. But, I can't do that fix since I can't access the file/fold properties.
I've tried various solutions, like repairing my registry and optimizing it and rebooting. That works for about a day, then things disappear again.
On an interesting note, I tried to get Microsoft live help, but any time you click on Win 7 Profession, it says that the page isn't found. Is this Microsoft's way of saying they aren't helping with Win 7 now that they moved on to Win 8? Probably the worst customer support...or rather lack of, that I have experienced!
