I have created multiple system repair discs with Windows 7 64-bit, and even tried two different machines (both running on the same OS). However, the resulting disc is always the same: It DOES NOT BOOT.

I need to restore from a system image, and all I have are the recovery disks I created when I first got the machine (no install disks). The recovery disks only install to a "fresh from the factory" state, and do not prompt me for a system image file from which to recover. I have tried using the Advanced Recovery Options in the control panel, but after the machine restarts and I select the image file to use I am told the computer needs to format the drive it's using and to restart from a System Repair Disc. Which of course DOES NOT WORK.
Microsoft, please supply a solution for this problem, since your software doesn't appear to be capable of creating bootable system repair discs as advertised. I need to restore the backup that I already have!
