Desktop Icons disappear

Same as described in this thread, but it has not been answered/solved.

I have the same problem. Every Monday the links/shortcuts I have created on my desktop, have disappeared and vanished completely. The shortcuts are links to files on my server (available 24/7), for example an excel-sheet for my administration.

Seems like desktop cleanup utility is running, but that is nowhere to be found/configured...
I run Windows 7 Professional.

Any help is appreciated.
