Hi
We have recently migrated over to Windows 7 from XP. We use Windows 7 clients in a domain. The clients access data on a Windows 2008 Storage Server server via DFS shares.
Staff are frequently unable to rename or create new folders on the server. This is causing a few problems.
I have seen the Microsoft Fix-It article located here. This would seem to apply as we work with a lot of images and PDF files. When I run the Fix-It a dialog appears stating that it does not apply to our version of Windows 7 (Professional). When I checked the version I saw that the Fix-It applies to Win 7 Enterprise. Is there a version for Professional?
Or, can I use Group Policy Preferences to create the registry entries described in the article? The key 'Explorer' described in the article and located here HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Explorer does not exist on our systems. Can I safely create the key?
Thanks!
