Remote Assistance for Entire Domains

Hi Guys

I work in a company with 3 buildings (in a 2 mile radius) and we're about to add another about 20 miles away. We have 2 domains and I have domain admin rights. A number of machines in manufacturing are not in a domain

I'm a developer and often get called to help out with integrations and custom app issues. Our users our mostly Win7 and XP (latter is declining, but some 3rd party vendor products are not compatible with Win7, but run critical apps). Some people have Lync.

It's a major PITA trying to look at someone's screen and see what they're doing. Even for the people with lync (they hardly use it), I have to explain how to share a screen, how to give me control, etc. If I'm domain admin and they are logged into a domain, why can't I just connect to their machine with remote assistance without having explain all the "invite someone to help" BS. (I presume, we can set any required permissions/settings with GP). it's fine if it displays a pop-up asking them to allow, but that's about it.

If that's no feasible, can someone recommend a solution that would do it? As long as it doesn't need anything major installing on the PC's and doesn't;t cost a fortune, it should work for us?

TIA

Mark
