Windows 7 - Folder Redirection - Redirect to different partition on same computer

Hi there

Folder Redirection in Windows 7.

I want to redirect Documents\My Documents to a separate partition on the same client computer, either D$ or F$.

I can't get it working though.

On my test machine, D:\UserDocs$ is shared, and the share permissions and NTFS permissions are set to Everyone\Full Control

In the Redirection policy I have tried:

Target Folder Location: Create a folder for each user under the root path

Root path: D:\UserDocs$

However no user folder or files created.

I've tried the same folder, without it being hidden. I am using a test user account and have filtered the gpo to that user account only.

I've also tried using %computername%\UserDocs but no joy.

Redirecting to a specific computer such as a server is straighforward but not it seems (to me anyway) to a separate partition on the same computer.

Advice welcome as ever.

Regards

John
