This question has me stumped. Here's the scenario:
We are installing a piece of software on our Windows 7 systems and during the installation, Microsoft Update fires off and installs one or more updates. When the software install reaches the next phase, the portion that was to be installed fails with an error "another install is already in progress."
What I'm looking for is a quick and simple solution to prevent those automatic updates from installing during the period that this software is installing. I've tried stopping the Windows Update service manually before starting the install but that does not always work. Any suggestions?
Thanks...Ray
