I finally got a issue i need some help with.
Ok well my little brother thought it was cool to set a bios password on his laptop but did not write it down.
He did not restart the computer for over a week and forgot the password.
From my research i was able to enter a invalid password 3 times and have a password generated from the bios disabled code it provides.
So step 1 is done but now it wants a hard drive password and i am unable to find any back door password or method to bypass the hard drive password.
I honestly do not want to open it up and try removing the cmos battery because i have no idea about the inside of his laptop or what is soldered to the motherboard. Also i read that it is likely that a chip would need to be replaced and removing the cmos will have no effect.
I am pretty stumped at the moment. The worst part is i told him in exact words you do not need a bios password to protect your games unless your one developing them.
