I have a Dell Inspiron laptop that I am running windows 7 professional 64bit on. It came from a lab of thirty other machines that are identical to it. I recently discovered the print spooler would not start on it when I tried to connect it
to printers that were on our server. I ran a start up repair, did a chkdsk and neither gave any result. When I ran an sfc /scannow the print spooler would start after the scan said it restored some corrupted files but upon a reboot the spooler
had reverted back and was no longer working. So I sent the machine off to the company that it was purchased from. They returned it but said they could find no issues with any hardware in the machine. So I bit the bullet and did a clean install
of windows. Once again, this did not yield any result. After this is when I discovered the spoolsv.exe.org problem. The spooler would start once again after changing the file name back to spoolsv.exe but just like after the /scannow, it would
go back to the .org state after a reboot. I have deleted all the old printer drivers from the machine, and cleared their keys from the registry. I actually had another machine that had a similar problem and this fixed it, but on this one I have not had
any success. Does anyone have a permanent solution to this problem?
