We have a windows 2012 active directory with shared printer GPOs to workstations. The printers are shared on print server through Print Management. All workstation are networked either through cable or Wireless. In morning when users
logon to their workstation, printer worked fine. There is a problem where when the workstations goes to sleep and comes out of sleep mode, the printer disappears from "printer and Devices" in Windows 7.
Some times if I do a gpupdate /force it will find it again but most of the time restarting the machine works.
Event Viewer lists the following.
System event IDs: 1112 source: Group Policy.
System event IDs: 5719 source: NETLOGON.
Application event ID: 1530 source: User Profile service
Application event IDs: 4098 source: Group policy Printers. Description:Group Policy object did not apply because it failed with error code '0x80070709 The printer name is invalid.' This error was suppressed.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
