I have a Windows 7 x64 Dell computer.
My computer went into hibernation, as it's done many times over the months. Would always wake up with no issue. The other day, it had an issue - so I powered off, and powered on (I didn't catch the error about not being able to come out of hibernation).
Now when I reboot, I see the machine POST and see the Windows logo during startup - then it goes black, and it'll stay that way forever.
I've done the following with no luck thus far:
- Tried startup repair and system restore from system recovery options
- Started with DVD and went to command prompt and ran every chkdsk possible
- Started with DVD and went to command prompt and ran sfc commands and found no issues
- Booted into safe mode and did a clean boot
- Tried restoring to previous date
- Tried last know good configuration
I can boot into safe mode, but nothing has helped to get me to a normal windows login. I'm stumped now. Anyone have any other suggestions here?
Thanks in advance for your reply.
