Hi, I am running Windows 7 Enterprise - 64 bit. Recently my hard drive broke and it was replaced with a brand new one. Trying to run Windows Update has failed every time since trying to install the first round of updates on this hard drive. There are 48 important updates that install fine, but when the computer restarts to configure the updates it gets stuck at 14%, until it shuts itself down and counts the update as a failure. All of the updates have the same error code - 800705B4 which I have heard is a timeout error. I have run Windows Update Troubleshooter which has not solved the problem, and I have tried installing these updates many (around 6) times and it fails each time. Are system files corrupt? Is a firewall or antivirus preventing it? I am only using Microsoft Endpoint Protection.
Please let me know if I can provide any more information, and definitly how to fix this issue! Brand new hard drive that's not updated at all!
