Here's the scenario:
User A tries to browse for network printer (shared in a domain) using smb: \\servername\printername (they only see folder shares, no printers) but user A CAN connect to printer using the add printer wizard and finding it in the domain.
to add to the dilemma user A can browse for printers on 2 local (geographically local on same vlan/subnet) print servers
User B tries same method and sees all printers
Why might this be the case? What permissions would prevent a user from seeing shared printers (all shared printers have Users? Is there a network switch setting that is blocking the browsing of network shared printers in this fashion?
