I am having a heck of a time with this. I made regular backups of my old window 7 files. I have a new computer with windows 8. When transferring my windows files on the initial setup (this was a new computer), I lost some recent outlook.pst, and archive.pst files. I have a zipped file call "Backup set 2014-01-05 0400000". I am trying to get access to this file. It is a directory for 102 backup files. It allows me to extract them, but it doesn't put them in original large size files, like they were. In other words. When I extract, it may give me 50 archive.pst files. I tried to put the file on a blank 1TB drive and unzip each individual backup file. That is when it gives me all of the individual outlook.pst and archive.pst. I would like my original files. Is there any way to restore this complete file to the 1TB USB drive. If not, can it be done by plugging into a USB drive on a windows 7 computer? Thanks in advance.
