WIN7 (64) cannot print on HP LaserJet 1200 shared on a W2K3 Server (32)

Browsing through previously discussed topics did not reveal a solution to my setup.

My HP LaserJet 1200 is shared on a W2K3 (32) server. WIN7 (64) installed the latest universal printer driver from HP. When checking status from the HP Universal Printing PS (or PCL) GUI, the message "Unable to communicate with the printer" shows up.

W2K3 shares both a PCL and a PS version of the same printer. Both result in the same problem. Trying to install the HP Universal driver as a local printer on the WIN7 machine and thne redirect it to the TCP Port does not work either.
