Odd IntelliType keyboard problem

I just bought a Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000 to replace my much older Wireless Optical Desktop 8000. Both sets suffered from the same problem, so I know it's not the hardware.

When I hibernate the computer, I've got roughly a 50% chance that, when the computer comes out of hibernation, the keyboard won't work. The mouse will work fine and the hot keys along the top of the keyboard (IE home, email, My Documents, etc.) will work as well, as will the function keys as long as F-lock is off. However, the regular keys (numbers, letters, etc.) and the function keys with F-lock on won't work. The keyboard will work fine during the BIOS phase of the boot, but once Windows starts, it's hopeless. The only solution is for me to restart the computer completely.

I tried removing and reinstalling IntelliType and IntelliPoint but that didn't solve the problem.

Does anyone have any idea what else I can look at? This is driving me crazy.
