Hello
Recently our users had their machines upgraded from XP to windows 7. The problem is that files take a lot longer to open across the vpn on windows 7 (64bit) than they do with windows xp (32bit). The files shares are on windows server 2003 (32bit). It is particularly bad with office 2010 documents, xp ran office 2007.
I have had our networking guys look at the problem as well as the provider of our vpn, aventail but no one can seem to find anything that may be causing the difference. Tracert etc are all the same. There is no problem on the local lan when in the office, all files open straight away.
When files are copied across the vpn to the users machine there are no speed issues, only issues when opening from the share. Does anyone have any ideas on what may be causing the slowdown?
