ok... i have a toshiba qosmio f60 laptop and was intially running a preinstalled windows 7 home premium OA (i understand that the OA part means something about being preinstalled by the manufacturer) operating system... and i bought it in australia and i am now in the uk. after experiencing a problem with the harddrive and then the ram chip i have got it back in working order. however, on the desktop it now tells me that the copy of windows is not genuine. i should add at this point that a friend who is good(?) with computers did all the leg work and reinstalled windows for me. whenever i try to enter the product key...(start, right click computer, properties) it does not give me the option to enter the product key

Also i can not update windows.

does anybody have a solution for this or can you tell me how to download the original version of windows 7 as i have no recovery disk  or partition for this since the harddrive was replaced.

was going to add a screen grab, but supposedly i cant add this until They verify my account or some rubbish. so here is what it says at the bottom of the properties panel...

windows activation

status not available

product id: not available
