I am experiencing an issue at a couple different client sites where users with new Windows 7 Laptops are unable to access their profile while
they are off the domain network.
Below is the procedures taken that cause the issue:
- Log in while connected to the DC (corporate network)
- Put the computer to sleep/hibernate/standby
- Bring the computer Off-site (not on corporate domain)
- Attempt to log back in then prompted with "Unable to Locate Login Server"
This is not across all of the computers, in fact we have some laptops of the same model (Dell E6430) that is not having this issue. The domains between the two clients have no common factor (one is Server 08' R2, one is SBS2003). The
only way to fix the problem is to reboot the computer, which then allows you to log into the user profile.
The laptops are a single user laptop (not hitting the 10 user cache limit),
