I know this was already asked before but I cannot find any response that ultimately solves the issue. Some of our recent Windows 7 PC's joined to AD are having their names reverted back to the original image name and we are stumped as to why this is happening. We tried renaming then rejoining them back to AD but the name still reverts. This is also causing the trust error whenever users are trying to login to their PCs. Checked with the event logs and the failure audit entries have the original image name as caller machine name.
As far as we know, it had only occurred recently. Would really appreciate your help in pointing out if this is AD-related or more of a Windows 7 glitch.
