Unknown tasks running in Task Scheduler

I am not a computer expert but I am A+ certified, kinda like a degree from kindergarten. I constantly keep an eye on my task mgr to see what is trying to run that is unfamiliar to me. Task scheduler is always one of those processes. It finally occurred to me that I don't have any tasks scheduled. Never have. So I want to know why it is on. Under "Active Tasks" there are 46 total tasks. I am surprised but after looking at them most seem legit. What I am having a problem with is tasks like: WC3, Remote assistance task, Ip-addressConflict1 & 2. Then there is my favotite, a file name that I apparently cannot list here because this program sees it as a link. There is no "next run time" or location. WC3 is a little like that in that it is the last on the list, no run time, triggered by the log on of any user, and has no location. My credit is not good but I am trying to rebuild and I am constantly worrying about my info getting "out there". I use Norton Internet Security, but it misses things too, so I never feel totally safe or secure. I need to find out about encryption for my drives as well and how to go about getting it. I might just be paranoid, that thought has entered my head. But until that is proven, I need to know what is going on with my computer. I use a broadband connection through a LAN mostly, but on occasion use the Wi-Fi. If there is anyone out there who can shed some light on this issue, or a shrink who will treat my paranoia free, I would appreciate your efforts. And I will get more sleep.
