I have installed windows 8.1 on my laptop on the first partition which is C: and windows 7 on second partition which is D:, now I am trying to test some data recovery software to see its real effect on the windows 7 which is on second partition drive letter D:.
I know that the second partition is now the active partition, but if I want to recover files on the second partition which is at this moment the active partition do I have to click on scan partition volume C : or D :(windows 7 is installed on D:partition)
or because the active partition ( D: ) which is windows 7 in this case then it becomes C: in this situation because the windows 7 is active.
