There seems to be no end of reasons that Windows 7 Backup fails. More recently I cannot create a system image because I keep getting
I have tried following http://support.microsoft.com/kb/952272?wa=wsignin1.0 including shrinking the backup volume, but still I get this error. Where do I go next to get backups to work?
At a more basic level, after years of experience with Windows 7 Backup, it seems that it is intentionally designed to fail in as many circumstances as possible with the most abstruse explanations possible. I wonder if this is somehow a result of the landmark Microsoft antitrust litigation. There are many other vendors producing backup solutions for Windows. Is there some clause in that antitrust settlement the prohibits Microsoft from producing a quality competitive backup solution?
