How to change the registry in Windows 7 Home Premium to remove a security tab

I'm trying to access a currently inaccessible external hard drive using Windows 7 Home Premium via the Disk Management tool. I can see the drive listed but when I right click on Properties, the window which appears does not include the Security tab that I need to continue the process. If I had gpedit (which I know my OS doesn't) I should be able to follow the path of:

User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components> Windows Explorer> Remove Security Tab > Properties at which point I would select Disabled / Not configured.

How can I achieve the same result by changing the registry?

Please help as I can not access the drive where everything is stored.

Thanks
