I'm trying to install a bar code font or two on my Windows 7 PC. (Example: free3of9 from http://www.barcodesinc.com/free-barcode-font/, or a set of fonts from http://www.idautomation.com/).
I see several similar questions to this on this forum and others, but they all end with advice that has not worked for me.
I understand there are several ways to install fonts in Windows 7. I've probably tried them all now (right-click and Install, Install from Control Panel / Fonts, and drag and drop). I've also tried some of the advice I've seen in this forum (turn off UAC, try to install as built-in Administrator account).
Still, all I ever get is:
Cannot Install ....TTF
The file ... does not appear to be a valid font)
Why won't Windows 7 recognize these true-type fonts? Thanks!
