Hi there,
Before anything else, I want to mention i'm running Windows 8.
I'm having problems running the resource checker on my computer. When I do the usual command prompt sfc /scannow
I get this error:
Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service.
I did some browsing, and people said this command works:
sfc /scannow /offbootdir=c:\ /offwindir=c:\windows
but when I use it, it doesn't scan... It just lists the command prompts I can use for the scan. I'd give a screen cap, but I can't figure out where to verify my account...
So, again, after it lists the available prompts I type sfc /SCANNOW
Same error comes up.
I'm completely and utterly confused. Any help would be much appreciated.
