This problem has again popped up on my PC: Windows 7 keeps installing KB 890830 over and over. I have tried disabling Internet Security software (Bitdefender 2014), disabling windows cleaning and optimizing (ASC Pro 7) before instaliing the update, which
always installs "successfully". I also tried the solution suggested by Schvankus in the previous post on this subject, which is deleting mrt.exe but to no avail. Is there really no way to kill this beast or to disable its installation
in a final and absolute way? Isn't there some file or pointer that allows windows to know it has the latest update of this tool and doesn't need to update again? Perhaps the file or pointer is blocked or removed by cleaning software so that Windows Update
again thinks the tool has not been updated. If we know what that file is we can exclude it from the cleaning.
